Patrick Mohs Jewelry is the artistic collaboration of husband and wife, Patrick Nelson and Mary Kay Mohs. Together they share a great passion for the art of jewelry. By joining their design and manufacturing skills, they are able to bring their love of fine jewelry to life.
Each piece of jewelry is designed three-dimensionally – no corner or surface left untouched. Patrick Mohs Jewelry is an exploration of what is possible with design, gemstones, and precious metal. Every piece is an adventure!
EACH PIECE OF UNIQUELY CRAFTED JEWELRY MADE IS DESIGNED AND CREATED BY THE COLLABORATION OF BOTH ARTISTS.
Immersed in a world of jewelry, Patrick first learned from his mother at her jeweler’s bench. Later, he attended the Gemological Institute of America in Carlsbad, CA where he studied gemstones, jewelry manufacturing, and design, becoming a Graduate Gemologist. Finally, he apprenticed with a master custom jeweler.
Mary Kay always admired her mother’s beautiful jewelry pieces. She loved learning about design and art, as well as geology and gemology, and the idea of combining the two worlds fascinated her. This led her to a Graduate Gemologist degree, also at the Gemological Institute of America. And later, she taught herself computer-aided design (CAD).
Their fascination with gems and jewelry would put both Patrick and Mary Kay in paths that would eventually cross and create not only a marriage but a partnership to explore and create their own line of jewelry. As a duo, they can play off both of their strengths bringing to life a unique jewelry experience using gems and precious metals.
Their creating of jewelry together all began in the basement of their home. As time went on, more and more people asked Patrick and Mary Kay if they could visit their jewelry studio. Then in 2018, Mary Kay and Patrick found the perfect studio space in Wayzata, MN to create their jewelry and meet their clients. Why Wayzata? Patrick and Mary Kay as a couple have always called Wayzata home. They opened a jewelry studio where they could meet people to show where their jewelry is made one piece at a time. Patrick and Mary Kay love to share the joy of the experience of designing and creating jewelry.
